Stroll Through History - The 75th Anniversary of Swedish Days

Celebrate the 75th anniversary of Geneva's annual summer festival, Swedish Days with a walk through downtown Geneva during the month of June to view posters in the windows of businesses. View fun images and learn the story of how the festival has evolved. It all started in 1949 as Geneva Days and had a shaky start with a few Swedish themes through the 1950s, skipping a couple of years, and then substituting it with Butter Days. Then in 1958, Swedish Days became the name to honor a time when Geneva's population was more than half Swedish.

This is a partnership project between the Geneva History Museum and the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, and is sponsored by Joe Stanton of Fagan's, Inc.
