The Sterling Society honors Geneva settlers, Samuel and Cornelia Sterling.
Samuel built the first dam and bridge over State Street. Cornelia was the first Geneva teacher. Together they opened the first saw mill and public tavern.
Sterling Manor subdivision is named in their honor.
