Markie Striegel brings over eight years of museum and collections experience. Originally from Bradley, Illinois, her history background began as she studied at Northern Illinois University. While there, Markie received both her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies. She worked for three years as the Graduate Assistant for the Center for Burma Studies at NIU, caring for more than 3,000 art objects within the Burma Art Collection, and assisting with the development and installation of over ten exhibitions. “I am thrilled to work at such an accomplished institution and look forward to working with staff and volunteers to continue the museum’s success,” said Markie.
Markie replaces the GHM Curator, Jessica Strube, who is moving with her family to Nebraska as Exhibits Manager for History Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska.
